Description
The Surinam Red is the most available pitaya on the market in Surinam. The plant is a heavy bloomer (sometimes a normal size plant can produce more than 25 flowers). Next to this, the Surinam Red dragon fruit adapts well to the strong changing weather conditions, which can come in handy. The fruit can reach a weight between 500 and 800 grams. Not only this variety dragon fruit plant, but all varieties prefers a little bit of shade on the ground.
Tip: Do not give water to the Surianm Red before harvesting, as this could influence the taste in a bad way (the taste can become less).
